Mary manages and teaches classes at Bliss Body Yoga. Bliss is on Lake Boone Trail between 440 and Rex Hospital. Mary teaches weekly classes in several different yoga styles. She teaches Flow, Yin, Gentle, and Restorative Yoga and Meditation. And, often her sessions include Tuning Fork Therapy® or essential oils to complement the yoga practice.
In addition to teaching regular weekly classes at Bliss, Mary also substitute teaches other classes when her time permits. Check out her class schedule for regular and special class offerings.
Do you want to dive deeper into your yoga or meditation practice? Workshops and trainings are a terrific way to get more out of your practice than a simple 1-1.5 hour class.
Workshops can give you additional insight into the philosophical aspects of yoga and they can provide a longer practice time to find deeper ease in postures or to take your practice to the next level.
Mary offers workshops on anatomy and alignment, philosophy, deeper asana practice, Tuning Fork Therapy®, how to use essential oils, and so much more. In addition, Mary often participates in special events around the Triangle area. Recently, Mary taught at the Raleigh City Museum and participated in the Health Fair at Person Street Pharmacy.
If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, perhaps you want to consider delving into a Yoga Teacher Training program. Bliss Body Yoga, located near Rex Hospital in Raleigh, offers a comprehensive, 200 hour yoga teacher training program. We focus on flow yoga, moving within the guidance of the breath, adding in several other forms of yoga to round out a "liberal arts" type of program giving students the tools to continue their yoga journey. This is an experiential program, guided by the experienced and thoughtful teachers at Bliss Body Yoga. Mary, Colby Cooper, and Rachel Wright co-lead this program. We begin in January, working together for 9 weekends through late spring, learning, exploring, contemplating, practicing, and teaching. With a comprehensive curriculum, you will learn yogic philosophy, anatomical alignment and sequencing of poses, breathing and meditation techniques, exploration of yin, restorative, prenatal, and yoga for seniors, in addition to flow yoga, ethical considerations in teaching and practicing yoga, and SO much more.
Hopefully, there will be a retreat soon!
